Happy New Year. Here is our Wagonhammer Happenings 2015 Year in Review. We are looking forward to another exciting year at Wagonhammer Campground.
Our Canadian cousins Gary and Anita along met their friends at Wagonhammer for a week of Idaho explorations. Gary successfully scaled the Bitterroot Mountain summit enjoying the bird’s eye view of Wagonhammer. He shared his love of nature and photography with us, making our visit complete.
Vintage visits Wagonhammer throughout the summer. From the annual Father’s Day Car show held in Salmon Idaho, to friends and neighbors dropping in. Ab has been yearning for years for a 47 Ford Blue Bird Tractor. He finally acquired it this year. One of our Wagonhammer Be-Back guests Bill Beyer, proudly sits at the wheel.
Wagonhammer continues to be a popular Family Reunion Destination. One of the families’s who joined us this year was the Savages. The girls had such fun finding their treasures in the Wagonhammer Gift shop.
Community Group Activities
This year I enjoyed participating in the many community group activities happening throughout the season. I like to invite guests to join in as we always seem to have a good time attending these festivities. Some of these include the Lavender Festival High Tea at Shannon Weaver’s. The Salmon River Days filled with fun shopping, parade, quilt show, car rally, and demolition derby. We were mesmerized by the wonderful experience attending Shakespeare in the Park. Fund Raising Dinner at the Kiwanis, Whitewater Therapeutic and Recreational Riding Association dinner, dance and auction, Pancake lunch and auction for the North Fork Fire Department, Blues, Brews and BBQ and many more.
Renee, a retired nuclear engineer stayed at Wagonhammer for the summer and plans to return next summer. She thoroughly engaged our interest sharing her experiences being in charge of a research station in the Antarctica.
When you are considering your trip to Wagonhammer, be sure to ask Shirley or one of the host couples about area events you won’t want to miss.
