New Beginnings Spring at Wagonhammer RV Park, North Fork

As we begin our ninth season at Wagonhammer it is always our goal to make Wagonhammer RV Park & Campground in North Fork Idaho a more inviting and interesting destination and the year 2012 is no exception.

Our spring return from Arizona was most welcoming as we returned to the RV park as winter’s changes were very minimal and the campground most inviting. Major upgrades include a new beverage cooler and a Culligan Upgrade to our water system.  We are also awaiting a new aerator for the front stream. Abner also checks all of those cottonwood trees and a few became history.  I am so glad that we had the foresight to plant many trees nine years ago which have so enhanced our property.

Bye, bye dead tree, hello new growth!

May 10th was a special day for Abner as he celebrated his 70th birthday.  We had a gathering of 30 friends and neighbors with much laughter, cheers and good wishes. The most unusual guests arrived with oxygen tanks, bed pans, canes, depends etc.  They looked like escapees from the old age home in Salmon.  Hey guys you made everyone roar with laughter.

Thanks to Bertram’s Brewery who has named a wheat beer with hints of orange rind Wagonhammer Ale so it seemed quite proper to have that as our birthday brew.

Ab entered his seventh decade with great friends.  Thanks to All!!!!!

Springtime at Wagonhammer is a time for many nature sighting and it is always a thrill to see the Big Horn Sheep come in for a drink by our stream.  It is also quite entertaining to watch the Canadian Geese teach their young to swim. It’s so cool to observe the Eagles swoop into the stream for fish to feed their young just at the southern end of our property.

We also found it quite intriguing to see a bird nest in a very unusual spot.  Tom and Sue check out the nest location!!!
