Leaving Salmon Idaho drive southeast on Highway 28 to Tendoy. Take a moment to chat with Viola at the Tendoy General Store and take in the legends and history of the area before heading to the Sharkey Hot Springs located on Warm Springs Wood Road. The pools are emptied and cleaned on Wednesdays 8:a.m. – 12: p.m.
We found our Idaho Sharkey Hot Springs to be well maintained, clean and a nice natural temperature.

Goldbug Hot Springs near Elk Bend Idaho are for the more adventurous souls who enjoy hiking our beautiful wilderness areas. Goldbug Hot Springs is about a 2 mile hike up to the hot springs through cottonwood riparian areas and sagebrush filled slopes dotted with juniper and Douglas fir trees, with the last 1000 feet being the most difficult. Wear decent footwear with a sturdy tread because the soil may be slippery. Once at the hot springs, all cares are washed away, and you might completely forget about the hike you just took. Goldbug Hot Springs is truly is a wonderful place with a multitude of pools to explore and several waterfalls to pound the blues right out of you with a water message.
DIRECTIONS: Take Highway 93 south of Salmon, 23 miles to mile marker 282. Then left (east) up a short gravel road to the parking area and trail head. Cross the footbridge and that’s the beginning of a 2 to 2 1/2 mile hike to the spring which are a canyon.
