  • Boating – Kayaking, canoeing and floating the Salmon River are very popular sports for many guests at Wagonhammer RV Park and Campgrounds. Our camp hosts will provide a ist of 5 great access points between Wagonhammer and Salmon, Idaho. Guests who enjoy power boating drive the short distance to Williams Lake, where water skiing and fishing are popular activities.
  • Birdwatching – Guests and campers at Wagonhammer RV Park and Campground enjoy birdwatching in the park and on local Idaho Birding Trails offering a wide variety of Idaho birds to view or photograph.
  • Ghost Towns – Many guests at Wagonhammer enjoy venturing out past our Wagonhammer RV Park and Campgrounds to explore Idaho ghost towns in Lemhi County. Lemhi County is rich in history, boasting several ghost towns in our Gem State with buildings and remnants remaining for you to step back in time and explore.
  • Fishing and Fly Fishing – Idaho fishing for steelhead, trout and non-sport fish is available year-round. With the Salmon River running through our Idaho RV Park you can walk to the Salmon River and drop in your pole or set out on your boat from our boat launch ramp to explore the many superb fishing holes.
  • Golfing – Play Nine Holes or enjoy the driving range on the Idaho Salmon Valley Golf Course, just 19 miles from Wagonhammer RV Park and Campground. This lovely golf course features 3,168 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par 36. Course slope is 119. Call 208-756-4734 to book your Tee Times.
  • Hiking Trails – Many Idaho hiking trails surround Wagonhammer and RV Park and Campgrounds is home away from home for many seeking backpacking and hiking adventures. Bring your RV, camper or tent or if you would like to travel light, experience a true Western experience when you stay in one of our teepees. Venture out on many nearby Idaho’s best hiking trails offering both relaxing and challenging hikes, and return to Wagonhammer to recharge before you set out on another backcountry trail.
  • Horseback Riding – Bring your horse as we have horse facilities and access to horseback riding trails, or you can arrange a day or longer of horseback riding with one of our local outfitters.
  • Hot Springs – Feel like a soak in natural hot springs, take a short drive from Wagonhammer to Gold Bug Hot Springs, Horse Creek Hot Springs or Sharkey Hot Springs.
  • Hunting – Wagonhammer RV Park and Campground has been home for hunters during the Idaho Hunting Season as the success of our hunters at Wagonhammer insures our many “Be Backs” reserve for the next season in advance in the hopes of more celebrations.
  • River Rafting & Float Tubing – Enjoy a relaxing day on the Salmon River river rafting or on a float tube. The convenience of being directly on the banks of the Salmon River provides unique opportunities to enjoy white water canoeing and rafting. Bring your own boats or rent them from a local outfitter. Whitewater rafting is also available in North Fork, with trips ranging from easy to difficult with various prices.
  • Rockhounding – Rock collecting near our Wagonhammer RV Park and Campgrounds can be enjoyed by pebble pups and serious rock collectors alike. There are dozens of collecting sites within an 80 mile radius, or you can stay in the campground and pan through Montana Sapphire gravel for a unique souvenir.
  • Sightseeing & Wildlife Viewing – There is no better spot to view wildlife than at Wagonhammer RV Park and Campground. Whether you stay onsite or venture into the many trails and state parks in the surrounding area, you might see bighorn sheep, mountain goats, elk, deer and moose. There are also various species of birds and waterfowl, including Clark’s Nutcracker and the Red Monkeyflower. Whether you enjoy photography or just enjoy nature through binoculars, you are almost guaranteed to see some beauitful animals.
  • Swimming – Warm summer days and swimming are available at Wagonhammer RV Park and Campground in the Salmon River, or pack a picnic lunch and drive over to Williams Lake for fishing and swimming or enjoy a dip in the Salmon, Idaho public pool. Lifeguards are not on duty at the Salmon River of Williams Lake. Lifeguard is on duty at the Salmon, Idaho public pool.
