MOUNTAIN BIKERS ALERT Discover Salmon Idaho

We were thrilled to get a great review from recent guests who stayed at our Wagonhammer Campground located in North Fork  just 18 miles north of Salmon Idaho. Why, because our friends at The Hub have been working diligently to promote mountain biking in general along with mountain biking events in the Salmon Idaho area.  They have even published for your riding pleasure Salmon’s First MTB Trail Guide. We have this guide available for you on site at Wagonhammer Campground.

Thank you Bruce and Sharon for such a glowing review….(Click here to read more reviews of Wagonhammer)

***MOUNTAIN BIKERS ALERT***
“While reading all of the many wonderful reviews about Wagonhammer RV Park I couldn’t agree more; this is a very special place. Ab & Shirley really go out of their way to give their guests a 5 star experience here. While staying here for a couple of days on what has been a month long RV/Mountain Bike vacation in British Columbia, Montana and Idaho, we discovered that Idaho’s Salmon River country is a slice of mountain bike heaven. In nearby Salmon, Max Lohmeyer has recently opened up the Hub of Salmon Bike Shop. He has also published an incredible guidebook of all the best rides between Salmon, North Fork and Leadore.
Wagonhammer RV Park puts you right in the middle of some amazing singletrack and is only a stone’s throw away from the Wagonhammer Creek trailhead. The Elk Trail Loop and the Burns Gulch Loop (#’s 18 & 19) rank high up as some of the best singletrack I’ve done on this trip! Come ride Salmon’s undiscovered gem and stay with Ab & Shirley at Wagonhammer RV Resort.”

Idaho Mountain Biking

Mountain biking, sleeping in a Tepee along the water…what could be better!

Below are a few excerpts from MOUNTAIN BIKE RIDES of IDAHO’S SALMON RIVER COUNTRY by David Lingle – Terry Magoon – Max Lohmeyer

Climbs out of Wagonhammer can be steep but tend to be steady and enjoyable for climbers. You earn vistas of backcountry before you tear down slope as fast as you dare on primo singletrack. Lewis & Clark came through here on trails used for horse travel for probably at least a half a century before them. You’ll ride on parts of the route marked with posts and cairins from Wagonhammer Creek to the Trail Gulch Trailhead. Cruising up the creek, you’ll see remnants of fruit trees and lush pastures. But if your blasting downhill during fruit season, dodge the bear pies, avoid splashing your bike and your buddies. Elk and deer also thrive in the drainage.

Wagonhammer a destination park for mountain bikers offering RV sites, tent sites, and teepees along the Salmon River. We’ll meet your camping desires with top rated laundry facilities and restrooms featuring clean showers and on demand hot water.  Our campground offers a friendly atmosphere and social hour gathering on the patio or in the lodge with on site owners, camp hosts and guests every day at 5:00pm. Come and experience Wagonhammer Campground!
